A note to our writers:

In our modern world, we are enamored by screens, photos, and texts. The art of writing has quickly begun its descent into the depths of history; far away from where we are today. Not only does Letters of Comfort offer volunteer service and pen pals, but we also provide an outlet for people to keep writing alive. Beautiful stories are told in great detail through letters as our pen pals write back and forth with seniors. We hope to keep the mind working, and the writing flowing, through our pen pal program.

Don't get discouraged if you don't receive a response from a resident. Even if they don't reply, it is important that residents in, for example, memory care are receiving, reading, and enjoying your letters weekly.

Here at Letters of Comfort, we work to ensure

the safety and wellbeing of the residents that are part of our program. Here are a couple of ground rules:

1) Keep all letters appropriate and respectful.

2) No exploiting residents.

3) Respect your Pen Pal's Privacy.

Those who violate our rules will be removed from our program.
